Posters and Lithographs
These posters reflect my early work as an abstract watercolorist. I would paint very wet and fast with large ganged Sumi brushes dipped in premixed watercolor solutions. It would take hours to set up the colors and stretch the watercolor paper over a strong homemade frame. The painting process happened very quickly. I would work while the paper was still damp so that the colors could flow into each other making seamless shapes. There were no do overs, just start overs. Long before digital art, posters were quite popular and it was one way to sell ones work as an artist. I was lucky enough to meet a poster dealer through the gallery that represented me at the time, and was asked to do a poster of one of my watercolors. Indian Blanket became the first of many posters to follow. The posters listed here are the last of my posters printed 4 decades ago by Editions Limited and McGraw Graphics. In the 80’s and 90’s they were selling all over the world. What I have to offer here is all that is left. None of my posters were printed after that.
It's been fun to rediscover these hidden gems in my flat files. Now seems like a good time to send them back out in the world. Being decades old, some of these posters will have slight damage. We will note that and price those accordingly. All posters will be shipped US mail insured.
